In a moment of irony, Oprah Winfrey fell onstage while talking about balance in Los Angeles on Saturday, Feb. 29.

The acclaimed TV host is on a cross-country tour titled “Oprah’s 2020 Vision: Your Life in Focus” which focuses on personal transformation. For the Saturday event, Winfrey interviewed Jennifer Lopez.

During the L.A. stop, Winfrey addressed the crowd about wellness.

“Wellness to me means all things in balance,” she said. “And balance doesn’t mean all things are equal or at peace at all times.”

Just after her statement, the media mogul lost her balance and managed to land on her back.

The incident was captured on video by Los Angeles Times en Español and posted on Instagram.

After the tumble, Winfrey ditched her heels and exchanged them for white sneakers.

She made light of the situation today, praising the L.A. audience on social media: “In spite of my fall (which now becomes a meme), you brought me UP with your energy.”

“Now I’m headed home to ice my knee and ankle,” she said.

The “Oprah 2020 Vision” tour has involved celebrity guests and inspirational speakers such as Kate Hudson, Lady Gaga and Michelle Obama.

The incident, ironic as it may look, actually falls in some way within the definition she gave — balance, when tested, indeed “doesn’t mean all things are equal or at peace at all times.” Niña V. Guno/JB
