Mika dela Cruz hospitalized due to dengue

Actress Mika dela Cruz was confined in a hospital after she contracted dengue, she revealed on her Instagram page yesterday, Feb. 3.

The actress pointed out that this was not the first time she was hospitalized, adding that she was previously confined in October because of a viral and bacterial infection. Earlier last week, her mother was hospitalized also due to dengue.

While she watched over her mother, Dela Cruz said she later developed a fever from staying up late in the hospital. However, she learned that she had also contracted the same disease from their home.

She then reminded others to take care of themselves even if they are busy with their own lives and jobs.

“[T]inatawanan ko lagi [best friend] ko kapag pinipilit niya akong uminom ng vitamins at binabatukan niya nalang din ako kapag bumigay na katawan ko,” she said.

(I always laugh at my best friend whenever she forces me to drink my vitamins, and she just hits me when my body gives in.)

Dela Cruz also urged her followers to “take that rest day, drink your vitamins” and “sleep early when you can.” In addition, she told them to breathe, listen to their bodies and “go on that [much-needed] vacation.”

“[M]ahirap magkasakit, masakit din sa bulsa (It is hard to get sick, [it] also hurts the pocket),” she added.
