Yassi Pressman

Yassi Pressman is excited about the possibility of working with Hollywood actors in “Ang Probinsiyano.” “We have not been informed who our foreign guest stars will be,” she quips. “But working with Hollywood peeps would be a plus factor for us.”

I asked her if their long-running series is about to end this year. Yassi says, “Perhaps having Hollywood actors is a signal that we want to wrap it up with a bang.”

What could be a bigger finale than that?

FEATURED STORIES

Thrill is gone

I cornered a former costar of James Reid and Nadine Lustre in their defunct series, “On The Wings of Love,” for his sentiments about the “JaDine” breakup.

He mused, “Since James admitted that they have been living together for years, probably the thrill and excitement have waned. If a couple lives together, somehow you ‘lose’ the mystery. Although I hope it’s just a cool-off phase because they were such a cute and cool couple.”

Too bad that JaDine’s “wings of love” are now making them fly in opposite directions.

This former “better half” is no “bitter half”

My dearest “sis” Princess “Cess” Punzalan-Field was in town recently for the Christian wedding of her nephew, Nathan and Pauline. “I cried at the ceremony because their love is so pure, just the way love should be,” gushed Cess. “Believe it or not, when Nathan kissed his bride, it was the first time they really had a torrid kiss.” Take note, millennials.

Speaking of marriage, Cess dropped by the taping of her ex-husband, Willie Revillame, just to see how he was doing. “I asked if his resthouse in Tagaytay is OK after the Taal eruption,” shared Cess. “Even if we separated, I wish him well. Exes must not lose respect for each other because once upon a time, you were part of each other’s journey.” Cess and Willie are living proof that an ex-“better half” must not turn into a “bitter half.” Now that Cess is back in Los Angeles (where she’s a member of the Screen Actors Guild), she’s ecstatic because an agent has signed her up. It’s pilot season, so Cess is hoping to get auditions for TV shows or web series.

Even if she is already an accomplished actress, Cess does not sit on her laurels. She still attends acting workshops and keeps evolving. She’s raring to go global. Viva la Ganda Filipina. Mabuhay, husay Pinay!

Jerald’s humor

I chided Jerald Napoles, “Did you move to ABS-CBN from GMA 7 because of a higher talent fee?” He shot back in jest, “Not at all. It’s just that I’m paid in foreign currency now.”

Even off-cam, the funnyman doesn’t run out of punchlines. INQ
