The craziest thing newlyweds Mikael and Megan did together
Coney Reyes and Mikael Daez are both in a euphoric state. Coney is savoring motherhood joys as she sees her son, Mayor Vico Sotto, soar in his “baluarte,” Pasig. While newly-wed Mikael is en route to “happily ever after” with his wifey, Megan Young.
The seasoned actress and Kapuso hottie are part of GMA 7’s new drama series, “Love of My Life” (weeknights after “The Gift”). The title of their show is so apt for this month of hearts. Let the Valentine mood begin.
Here’s my chat with Mikael:
What excites and scares you about marriage? That’s a hard question to answer because with Megan and me, nothing has changed the day after we got married. Getting married was just a milestone. We just made our commitment to each other legal and in the eyes of God. It’s just a formality. But the way we relate to each other is still the same. It’s a continuity of what we’ve always had.
What’s one marriage advice that you intend to follow? Stay honest. That has been the key to our relationship. Megan and I keep no secrets from each other.

When I feel playful, I carry our poodle, Soba, and hug Megan.

Why should things change just because we got married? We’ve always had a “give all” mentality in our relationship, so Megan has my full support in whatever she wants to do.
Why should we watch your new soap? Pinoys have a thing for emotionally flawed characters, which our series has a lot of. The audience will be able to relate to the highs and lows of each one in the cast.
Coney shares something few people know about Mayor Vico. Here’s my chat with Coney:
What are some of the relationship lessons your show imparts? Pardon the cliché, but our show will remind the audience that love conquers all—it perseveres and never fails.
What’s something people don’t know about your son, Vico? He’s great with kids. His nephews and nieces adore him. When he’s around, unahan ang mga pamangkin n’ya to play with him. They holler “Tito Vico” in unison. It’s like he has a “kiddie fan club.”
What’s your unsolicited advice to Vico’s future girlfriend/wife?
I would rather not give advice. I know that God will guide Vico to find the woman who’s well-suited for him.
What’s the best and toughest part of being Coney Reyes?
If people think I’m perfect, I’m far from it. There are still so many things that the Lord needs to fix in me. But the best part is, I’m willing to be changed and molded by God. INQ
