James Reid hints at ‘big plans’ with Grammy Award-winning producer Illmind
James Reid teased an upcoming collaboration with Grammy Award-winning music producer Illmind after meeting up with him in California, USA, days after his recent split with Nadine Lustre.
“Got to kick it with @illmindproducer!” Reid said in his Instagram post yesterday, Jan. 22. “Unexpected conversations about collective consciousness, the journey of the soul, purpose and some big plans.”
Illmind is a Filipino-American music producer who has worked with international artists such as Kanye West, J. Cole, Drake and 50 Cent, as stated in his official Facebook page. He has also won a Grammy Award for his work as a producer on the 2018 record “Everything Is Love” by Beyoncé and Jay-Z, who are also known as The Carters.
Along with his Grammy win, he has been nominated seven times for his other works including the soundtrack for the 2018 Marvel film “Black Panther” and Drake’s 2018 song “Blue Tint.”
The music producer also hinted at the collaboration with Reid on his own Instagram page on the same day.
“My pinoy bro @james pulled up had a great convo not just about the music but LIFE we cooking something wild soon,” Illmind said.
Also joining the meeting was Narez La Fuego, the chief executive officer of Reid’s independent music label Careless Music Manila.
Reid founded the label with his fellow “Pinoy Big Brother” alum Bret Jackson back in 2017. Their team has since expanded and now includes other young talents such as Lustre, rappers Curtismith and Massiah, among others. /ra
