Matteo Guidicelli replaces James Reid as Pedro Penduko in upcoming film

Matteo Guidicelli will replace James Reid in the titular role in the upcoming film “Penduko,” following Reid’s withdrawal from the project due to injuries. 

Viva Artists Agency broke the news via Twitter yesterday, Oct. 22.

Meanwhile, Jason Paul Laxamana, who will be helming the new project, took to Instagram yesterday to express his excitement for the film.

Viva Artists Agency also shared moments from Guidicelli’s training for the ucpoming film, which showed him practicing fighting sequences.

Guidicelli now joins the roster of actors who have portrayed the Filipino superhero character in the past, including Efren Reyes Sr., Ramon Zamora and Janno Gibbs.

Prior to being cast as Pedro Penduko, Guidicelli starred in the recent surf drama “Mina-Anud” alongside Dennis Trillo and Jerald Napoles.  /ra
