‘On the Wings of Love forever’: JaDine breakup stirs up emotions of fellow celebs and celeb fans

Celebrities are now expressing their own reactions following love team JaDine’s (Nadine Lustre and James Reid’s) confirmation that they have broken up.
Just shortly after JaDine’s official statement was released, actor and poet Juan Miguel Severo slammed the way previous reports broke the news of the breakup earlier this month without confirmation from Lustre and Reid themselves.
“It’s not a question of whether those non-journalists were telling the truth but whether it was their truth to tell or not. It was not,” Severo said on Twitter earlier today, Jan. 21. “You owe them no apologies. There’s no one to redeem here.”
“Two people whose love we loved separated. Their heartbreak is not for entertainment,” he stressed.

Lustre previously called out entertainment columnist Ricky Lo for the latter’s article about JaDine’s split, published on Jan. 4, which earned the actress’ ire for mentioning her mental illness “just to prove a point.” Lo’s article apparently supported the claims of writer Jojo Gabinete who broke the news of the breakup earlier on Jan. 1 via the Philippine Entertainment Portal.
Television host Bianca Gonzalez meanwhile lamented how netizens are spreading their own speculations on the reason of the couple’s breakup.
“Grabe yung speculations ng rason ng breakup nina James at Nadine,” she stressed. “Ruthless talaga ang social media”

DJ Chacha slammed these speculations and asked netizens to just leave James and Nadine be for now as they have just confirmed their breakup, she said on Twitter earlier today.
“Daming speculations sa hiwalayn ng JaDine. Yung totoo mga sist, kayo ba yung nasa relasyon?” she said. “This is a difficult moment for James and Nadine baka pwedeng tantanan muna natin sila. Pwede yon?”
(There are too many speculations on JaDine’s breakup. Are you guys the ones in the relationship? This is a difficult moment for James and Nadine, so please, just let them be. Isn’t that possible?)

Some celebrities meanwhile cannot help but be saddened by the news, revealing that they are fans of the famous love team as well.
Robi Domingo covered “On the Wings of Love” on the piano as a tribute to Lustre and Nadine, whose love team was formed after teaming up in 2015 for a television series of the same name (OTWOL). Lustre and James admitted that they were in a relationship back in 2016.
“OTWOLista forever,” Domingo posted on Instagram yesterday evening, Jan. 20.

After playing a short rendition of the song, Domingo pulled out a piece of paper with “JUSKOLORD” written on it.
Gonzalez then left a comment on Domingo’s video, saying: “Nananadya ka huhu (You just had to do this).” Domingo then apologized, saying he was hurt as well.
“[Sorry] ate b, one of the best interviews I had was with them kaya masakit (so it hurt),” he said.
Singer Jed Madela expressed his sadness over the breakup, noting that he has been an avid fan of the couple as well since when OTWOL aired.
“Awww nalungkot ako (I was saddened) when I saw the tweets about Jadine,” he lamented on Twitter this morning. “Was always vocal about being a fan since OTWOL.”
He added in another tweet that the news led him to watch OTWOL clips because he is also a “faney.”
“Ganun ba ako ka-affected na nanonood ako ng OTWOL clips ngayon? Oo… faney din ako. #Jadine,” he said.
(Am I so affected that I just had to watch OTWOL clips now? Yes, I am also a fan.)
Actress Barbie Imperial meanwhile hoped that it was just “fake news,” and was also clearly saddened.
“Pls tell me it’s fake news [broken heart emoji],” she said on Twitter today.

Lustre and Reid issued a joint statement confirming their breakup via the talk show “Tonight With Boy Abunda”, which released it yesterday. The two said it was for their “personal growth” and that they have ended their relationship of almost three years in good terms. JB
