The secret to Coco Martin’s success as an actor is having the right attitude toward work.

“On the set (of the long-running series, ‘Ang Probinsyano’), everybody is treated equally. Walang pasikatan. Everyone is disciplined. We arrive on the set early so we would finish early. That way, we have time to rest or still have energy for our other rackets,” he told Inquirer Entertainment. “When you’re on our set, you adapt this attitude, whether you’re an actor or part of the staff or crew.”

“When I have free time, I make sure to spend some of it with my grandmother (Matilde). I just stay home when I feel tired,” he said. “Or if I get two days off, I visit our old home in Novaliches. I hang out with my friends there—inom, tambay.”

The actor added: “I refuse to forget where I came from. I want to keep doing what I got used to doing even before I became an actor.”–MARINEL CRUZ
