Ethel Booba: Amid conflicts overseas, ‘chill’ Filipinos dancing to Tala

MANILA, Philippines — While tensions are rising in the Middle East, comedienne Ethel Booba observes that Filipinos remain “chill” while dancing to “Tala.”

“Nagkakagulo na sa ibang bansa pero tayo dito sa Pinas chill lang sa pagsayaw ng Tala. Charot!” Ethel said Wednesday in a Twitter post.

Singer-actress Sarah Geronimo’s 2015 pop song “Tala” recently resurfaced online with netizens and celebrities attempting to recreate its choreography.

The dance craze has taken the internet by storm that even celebrity couple Maine Mendoza and Arjo Atayde, and Korean girl group Momoland shared their cover of the song.

This, amid conflict between the US and Iran after the latter’s revolutionary guard Gen. Qassem Soleimani was killed in a drone strike by the former.

Meanwhile, the Philippine government has ordered mandatory repatriation of Filipinos in Iraq after it has been placed under Alert Level 4.
