Actress and vlogger Alex Gonzaga cried foul over a fake account posing as her on social media. The account was allegedly giving away free smartphones to its likers and followers.

Gonzaga immediately called out the account on Twitter yesterday Dec., 4.

“FAKE!” Gonzaga proclaimed. “Kung poser at fake account ito malamang di rin totoo ang pagive-away nito.”

(If it is a poser and fake account then obviously the giveaway is fake too)

Gonzaga added that if the poser was to hand out free smartphones, it should be from the cellphone brand Gonzaga is endorsing.

One fan, @gdecastro023, uploaded a photo of a supposed Gonzaga Twitter account with the handle @alexgonzaga. The account used Gonzaga’s face for its primary and cover photo.

“[T]his account is not affiliated with alex gonzaga,” the bio read. Gonzaga responded that despite the disclaimer, the account claimed to be “Ms. Alex G.”

While the post Gonzaga called out and retweeted is no longer available for viewing, some of the actress’ followers updated the post by taking screenshots of what appears to be the same account under different usernames.

“Naging Supremo na siya ([The account] became ‘Supremo’),” one @kenkoyers said.

The account with the handler @httpsupremo claimed to be giving away free iPhone 11 Pro Max, even adding a “Your Ms. Alex G is Here!” in the tweet.

“Follow me ‘@alexgonzaga,'” the account stated.

It also instructed followers to like and retweet the post.

A few hours later, the name of the account changed again.

“[M]adam na po (it became madam),” one @jessieeccatt noted.

Gonzaga also called the attention of another account, this time on Facebook, which she claimed used the name “Alex Gonzaga.” She said that for the longest time, she ignored it despite people’s advice for her to report it.

“Ang dami kahit kaibigan ko akala ako yun pero hinayaan ko nalang but ang nagclaim ng copyright at magopagive away kuno para sa followers sobra ng panloloko kaya wag ako.”

(Many were fooled by the account, even my friends thought it was me, but I let it slide. But to claim copyright and to announce fake giveaways to gain followers is too deceitful. Do not test me.)

This was not the first time the vlogger had to deal with problems over her social media accounts. Last October, hackers tried to seize Gonzaga’s YouTube account. JB
