Bianca Umali, Sam Concepcion to star in HBO Asia’s ‘Halfworlds’

The third season of the HBO Asia series “Halfworlds” will be set in Manila and will feature a Filipino director and cast.

Mikhail Red (“Eerie,” “Birdshot”) will direct the fantasy action series, which will star Bianca Umali and Sam Concepcion, according to the actors’ respective talent agencies.

Umali will take on the lead role as a “half-human and half-creature” searching for a plant to heal Engkantos’ craving for human flesh, Variety reported yesterday, Nov. 29.

Previous seasons of “Halfworlds” chronicled battles between humans and demons in Indonesia and Thailand. The third season will see the cast from past seasons too, according to the report.
