Kris Aquino ‘pretty chill about becoming irrelevant’

Kris Aquino has been relatively low-key on social media lately, with her latest post Monday,  Nov. 25, apologizing for her “silence/absence” in the past week.

In the same post, the actress invited fans to a live cooking demo at a Makati mall last Wednesday, Nov. 27, and took time to interact with fans online.

One of the comments in the post from a certain @gemhire seemed to express concern that Aquino was “slowly fading into the shadow of irrelevance.”

“I hope [you] can still able to gain [your] former status Madam as the country’s premiere (sic) endorser,” said the Instagram user, adding, “Magpasabog ka uli madam (Make a grand reveal again madam).”

Aquino told the commenter, “I’m pretty chill about becoming ‘irrelevant’ because the price to pay fighting to stay relevant wasn’t worth my health or my peace of mind.”

She said she realized that the reason she was working hard despite her material wealth was that she was “protecting something that now seems much less important — my ego.”

Aquino said she should have prioritized her wellness over work commitments. The actress and host has been candid about her health issues that she said include an autoimmune disease.

She said, “Sorry walang ‘pasabog’ (no reveal) coming soon — I have outgrown that.”

Aquino also accused the Instagram user of some underhanded bullying and could not help making a sharp remark: “I hope before you ‘worry’ about my professional standing, you’ll ask yourself why there seems to be little of interest in your life that you’re making mine your problem? #chillax.

In an Instagram post last Nov. 14, Aquino said she was following doctor’s orders to rest for “several days” before working again.  /ra
