The much anticipated horror-themed movie ‘The Heiress’ from Regal Entertainment, Inc. starring Janella Salvador, Maricel Soriano, Sunshine Cruz, McCoy De Leon, and Jane De Leon is going to be that kind of movie that I believe will surpass everyone’s expectations and will give all moviegoers an absolutely terrifying, chilling, and scary time in the cinemas.

It has to be said that in this year several horror movies have been released already but based alone on the trailers, the grand reveal, and everything I have learned about ‘The Heiress’, this is the horror movie that will topple all the others that have come out earlier this year. There is a big likelihood ‘The Heiress’ is going to be the best in terms of overall quality, direction, cinematography, scare factor and lastly, the star power that this movie has. And rightfully so because of the aforementioned reasons, this is the horror movie to end the year. As the old saying goes: “Save the best for last.”

Now, I was able to sit down and interview one-on-one the director of ‘The Heiress’ Director Frasco Mortiz. Frasco Mortiz is no stranger when it comes to his work in the director’s chair under modern horror movies as indeed he is one of the best young directors in this particular popular genre with moviegoers. A perfect choice he is, I have to say, when it came to the directing of ‘The Heiress.’ Let us hear what he has to say about the movie he has directed.

Here is the message of Director Frasco Mortiz to the moviegoers:

Director Frasco Mortiz: ‘The Heiress’ is something worthy of your time. Puede manood ang pamilya. Puede manood kasama ang girlfriend. Puede manood ang barkada. And basically, whoever you want to watch this great horror movie with.

It is your typical Regal movie in a sense it is for everyone. Kumbaga, yung “feel” niya ay nandun. The signature style ay nandun din na alam mo it is a horror movie from Regal. Pero at the same time, may mga iba kayong makikita at mararamdam once mapanood niyo ang ‘The Heiress’ in cinemas.

This is a modernized version of what a horror movie should be. It is very modern in many ways but at the same time, it also honors the past.

The scoring is also great. I am very happy in particular with the scoring. When I first sat down in the mixing and heard the original score, I was so happy because it was so wonderful and it is something you would not normally expect from a local movie. It actually elevated what we had done in this movie. It felt like scoring for a Hollywood movie because it was very anthemic. The original scoring for this movie was actually done by my cousin who studied in the US. He was the one who also did the original score for the last movie I directed.

‘The Heiress’ is going to be dark. It is going to be a “slow burn” in a good way and it is also going to be artsy. It will be more mainstream that it will appeal to everyone regardless if you like horror or not. It will not alienate any viewers at all because we have found the right balance here.

I am very confident that we have made and have come out with something great, exciting and memorable here in ‘The Heiress.’ This movie will be an experience for everyone.

Please do watch ‘The Heiress’ when it comes out in cinemas on November 27, 2019.
