Singer Moira Dela Torre spent her birthday yesterday, Nov. 4, as a barista at a milk tea shop to help raise funds for those affected by the recent earthquake in Mindanao.
Dela Torre joined the staff of the Macao Imperial Tea branch in Ayala Columns, Makati City, and left a donation box there for those who also wished to help the quake-affected residents.
She shared her thoughtful gesture on Instagram yesterday along with photos of her with some of the shop’s employees.
“So many lost their homes and loved ones,” the singer explained. “They also don’t have access to water among so many other things.”
“[A]nd so for my birthday I wanna ask for your help to send whatever amount you can to them,” she said.
Dela Torre added that helping her send “whatever help we can to the people of Mindanao” would be the “best gift.”
Aside from Dela Torre, Angel Locsin has also lent a hand to the victims of the recent earthquake. The actress was seen in Davao City last Friday, Nov. 1, buying relief goods for those affected by the quake. /ra
