MANILA, Philippines — Pixar’s short film featuring Filipino characters will be streamed on Disney+ starting Nov. 12.
The short film “Float,” which is a part of Pixar’s experimental storytelling initiative “Spark Shorts,” is directed by Filipino-American filmmaker Bobby Rubio who earlier confirmed that the lead characters in his short film were indeed Filipinos.

In a trailer released by Pixar last October, a clip from Float shows a man holding a baby before the latter suddenly flies away from his arms.
Rubio earlier said that the characters were the first all computer-generated imagery (CGI) characters in Pixar.
“I am proud to tell our stories. I know what it means to see our culture represented on screen! #RepresentationMatters,” Rubio said.
