Dimples Romana flew with her family to the United Arab Emirates for a much-needed vacation.
The actress has been quite preoccupied as of late, sharing to her fans on social media that she worked 22 days straight in the past three weeks. Apart from her tapings for “Kadenang Ginto,” Romana said she also had to shoot scenes for her role in Vice Ganda’s Metro Manila Film Festival entry, “The Mall the Merrier” and fulfill commitments for her endorsements.
As per Romana, the past weeks have been a blessing, but she also could not wait to just spend time with her family.
“I couldn’t ask for anything more. But today is the first time in a long time I got to be with my family, they have been super understanding and forgiving for the days I’m not home at talaga nilook forward ko ang linggong ito (and I really looked forward to this week),” said Romana via Instagram on Oct. 28.
Romana, along with her husband Boyet Ahmee and kids Callie and Alonzo, arrived in Abu Dhabi in the evening of Oct. 27. According to her post, they were welcomed by friends Tina and Aster into their home so they could travel to Dubai the following morning.
“Woke up 5 times not because I wasn’t comfortable because lord knows how good the bed was (obvious naman sa sarap ng tulog ng mag aama ko) but because I was so excited for them to wake up and we can finally spend some family time,” she said.
The Al Fahidi Historical Neighborhood was top of their list in Dubai, which is known for housing manifold cultural and artistic activities such as art exhibits and the annual Sikka Art Fair.
The scenic neighborhood was the perfect setting for Romana and Boyet to take sweet photos together—but not without Callie photobombing their moment, of course.
Romana also got to catch up with her college best friends from the University of Santo Tomas at the Arabian Tea House, which is also around Al Fahidi.
“I was a tourism student back in college sa UST and these are my college best friends!” said Romana. “This trip was not only for family but also to meet up with them since we all live in different parts of the world now.”
Romana’s family and friends then set up a private camp under the stars as part of their desert safari adventure.
“There’s something magical about being under the stars in the [desert], with Arabian music subtly playing in the background, we danced under the moonlight, went star gazing and said special prayers of gratitude and praise,” she said.
Sand boarding was definitely in order for the group—an activity that had them climbing steep mounds of sand with just a rope and then sliding down with a board.
Romana shared to her fans an important lesson she learned after the activity, which she related to one’s journey in life.
“That we must always hang in there, hang tight and be patient with our journey on our way to the top. That it’s better to take it slowly and enjoy the moment rather than rushing and risk falling,” she said. “I realized that when you reach the top, you must live in the moment, let go and raise your hands up to enjoy the ride of life and not worry too much about the next steps.”
Safe travels, Dimples and family! /ra
