After Alden Richards was “forgotten” to be introduced in an Eat Bulaga segment yesterday, his devoted fans flooded social media to show they would not just brush it off.

The Pambansang Bae appeared in Eat Bulaga as a presenter for the winners of the Miss Millennial 2019 segment.

As Richards was set to present the pageant’s second runner-up alongside SKAL International chairman Robert Lim Joseph Jr., host Pia Guanio forgot to introduce Richards and only acknowledged the latter.

Richards appeared unfazed, however, as fans pointed out that the actor was all smiles throughout the coronation. One twitter user @yammyite124 said Richards should have been acknowledged by the host.

“Whether his name was on the cue card or not, the mere fact that he was standing there in front of them, his presence should be acknowledged. Ganun lang ka simple yun (It’s that simple),” said the netizen.

One @supermaldita8 meanwhile cheered Alden on and asked the actor to not get affected by negativity.

“There are people who treat you right and there are people who do not treat you right. Don’t get affected by the latter! Hold on to the former — the chosen ones in your life and move on,” the fan said.

Some fans, however, are clearly hurt for the actor.

“I get hurt if you’re being disrespected. You don’t deserve it thinking you’re a man full of respect to others. I don’t understand why the nicest of all people like yourself have to go through this. Not fair,” said one @FrancineNoblez1.

Leysam Sanciangco, known to be Richards’ handler, appears to have felt the same sentiments, as he took to his own Twitter account to voice out his dismay yesterday, Oct. 26.

“Di man lang binanggit haha! Parang pahabol na lang ah? (Richards was not even mentioned! Was he just an afterthought?)” Sancangco asked.

After Guanio forgot introducing Richards, fellow host Paolo Ballesteros quickly mentioned Alden after 2nd runner-up Annabelle McDonell was awarded.

“Congratulations! Thank you din, Alden (Thank you too, Alden)” Ballesteros said.

Alden is yet to comment on the incident. Guanio, however, took to Instagram yesterday to address the issue and appealed to Richards to “please tell your fans not to get mad na! Wag na mag-away (Don’t fight anymore)! God bless you all!”

Guanio, as of this writing, has already edited her post, and now simply says she is “[s]o proud to be part of a segment that aims to show how beautiful our country is.”

Richards and Guanio are known to be good friends. Richards is the godfather of Guanio’s daughter, Soleil Brooklyn.

Fresh from his breakthrough role in the acclaimed film “Hello, Love, Goodbye”, the actor recently bagged the Asian Star Prize and was dubbed as Asia’s Multimedia Star in the 2019 Seoul International Drama Awards in August this year. JB
