LOOK: Vina Morales visits floating markets, temples in Thailand
Singer-actress Vina Morales jetted off to Thailand to spend some time away from the familiar and often taxing bustle of the Metro Manila.
The first tourist place to see on her list was one of the country’s popular floating markets, as seen in her Instagram post last Monday, Oct. 21.
Morales and two of her friends shared a meal while sitting by the waters. They feasted on different Thai dishes including tom yum, shrimp rice and octopus salad.

Morales even sang with two musicians who were playing at the market. Morales said she simply approached the musicians and asked if she could sing, and they willingly obliged. She sang a cover of the 1970s song “Killing Me Softly with His Song” by Roberta Flack.
“No one knows me there,” she said in jest. “But Khob Kun Krub. Salamat po (Thank you) Bangkok.”

The road, the hub of backpack tourists, is home to many restaurants and street-food stalls that feature various Thai delicacies.
Morales saw vendors selling crocodile meat and scorpions on sticks, but decided she could not stomach eating them, so she passed on tasting them. The singer-actress shared moments from her time in Khao San Road in a separate post on Wednesday, Oct. 23.

After seeing some of the quirky attractions of the city, Morales opted to see the more traditional side of Thailand. She took the time to visit four Buddhist temples including Wat Yai Chai Mongkhon in the ancient city of Ayutthaya.

In between hopping from one temple to another, she made sure to have lunch at the Ayothaya floating market. She also did not pass on the opportunity to pose under an arc adorned with colorful flowers at the market.
