Gretchen Barretto reunites with family at dad’s wake; is joined by Duterte

MANILA, Philippines — After years of being estranged, Gretchen Barretto reunited with her family in the wake of her father Miguel.

The moment was captured by Gretchen’s sister Claudine on Instagram Thursday, where Gretchen was seen embracing her mother, Estrella.

The touching reunion was even witnessed by President Rodrigo Duterte, who also paid his respects to the bereaved family.

“And then, We are Complete. @gretchenbarretto im so Proud of u. I admire & luv u more today,” Claudine wrote in her post.

In another post, Claudine captured the moment Duterte arrived at the wake. According to the actress, the President was joined by his former aide and now Senator Christopher “Bong” Go, along with presidential spokesperson Secretary Salvador Panelo.

The Barretto family patriarch died on Tuesday at age 82.

Gretchen and her family are known to have had icy relations over the years, starting in 2013. During that time, Gretchen sided with Raymart Santiago, Claudine’s ex-husband, over Claudine’s alleged use of drugs.

Mito, Joaquin, Michelle and Marjorie, who are Gretchen’s siblings, were also at Raymond’s side. Meanwhile, Gretchen’s sibling Gia, along with Miguel and Estrella, defended Claudine.

Gretchen and Claudine managed to settle their differences in February.
