Barretto sisters’ father Miguel dies at 82

MANILA, Philippines — Miguel Barretto, the father of actresses Gretchen, Marjorie and Claudine, passed away on Tuesday. He was 82.

In an Instagram Story entry by Claudine,  she expressed: “Never knew I could hurt like this.”

Claudine followed up with an Instagram post, with the whole Barretto clan around the family patriarch.

“We luv u Dad,” Claudine wrote.

According to Marjorie’s Instagram post dated Oct. 6,  she said that her father had fallen ill right after celebrating his birthday at her house.

“My siblings and I rushed him to the nearest hospital, I could say it say it was the scariest time for us all,” the former actress said.

“After that day, its been a series of ambulance transfer, family meetings, non stop praying, and big family gatherings at the ICU waiting area,” she added.

Miguel is the father of seven children. Three of them, namely Gretchen, Marjorie and Claudine, entered the showbiz industry.

Aside from being a father of seven, Miguel was also the grandfather to Marjorie’s daughters Julia, Claudia and Dani, as well as Gretchen’s daughter Dominique Cojuangco, whose names are well known in the industry as well. /jpv
