Delusional starlet strikes a discordant note
Beware of starlets who believe their own hype.
In a recent event that included a trio of relatively new singers, Gimmicky Youngster (GY) began “acting up” when she asked Seasoned Journalist (SJ) a list of preapproved questions—a practice that is only being observed in this country either by visiting K-pop stars or popular local actors wary of questions they’re too “ineloquent” to answer. Ironically, GY is neither K-pop nor popular, that’s for sure.
SJ found the delusional starlet’s “request” ridiculous, especially coming from a singer wannabe who consistently “massacres” many of the notes and melodies of her songs with dirty curlicues. The Mariah Carey-channeling GY is one of Tinseltown’s “galing na galing sa sarili” upstarts.
Just to get it over with, SJ acquiesced and agreed to give GY a list of the questions.
But when GY started censoring noncontroversial questions from the list, SJ refused to push through with the interview with GY. Thereafter, SJ went backstage for his one-on-one chat with GY’s two costars and was only too happy to skip his prescheduled talk with the delusional starlet.
