MANILA, Philippines — It appears that actor John Lloyd Cruz is soon ending his show business hiatus after his appearance in the teaser trailer of upcoming film “Culion.”

Cruz can be seen on the verge of crying at the end of the movie’s teaser trailer released Monday over “Culion’s” official YouTube channel.

“Culion,” written by Ricky Lee and directed by Alvin Yapan, is set in the 1940s and follows the story of three leper patients to be portrayed by Meryll Soriano, Jasmine Curtis-Smith and Iza Calzado.

Actors Joem Bascon and Mike Liwag are also starring in the upcoming movie which was reportedly submitted to the 2019 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF).

It was in 2017 when Cruz announced he will take a hiatus from showbiz “to attend to personal matters.”
