Elaine Duran was declared the winner of “Tawag ng Tanghalan” season 3 during the grand finals today, Sept. 28, at the Caloocan Sports Complex.
The singer from Agusan del Norte was tearful as she was declared the grand champion of the singing competition on “It’s Showtime.” The grand champion wins P2 million, a house and lot, a negosyo package, a family vacation package, a management contract from ABS-CBN and a recording contract with TNT Records.

Duran’s win was one she worked hard for after facing rejections in her previous tries in “TNT.” For the grand finals, she showcased her vast vocal range with a medley of Basil Valdez songs.
She was up against John Mark Saga, who won second place after performing December Avenue songs. Third placer John Michael dela Cerna impressed with a Bon Jovi medley. They took home P500,000 and P300,000 respectively.
The winner’s score was based on judges’ scores and online and text votes. /ra
