Carla Abellana and Tom Rodriguez set to build their dream house
Carla Abellana and Tom Rodriguez already have the “urge to merge.” The gorgeous couple is all set to build their dream house. They got perfect teamwork.
Carla bought the lot, while Tom will shoulder the expenses of building their home. Wedding bells may be ringing soon.
Here’s my chat with Carla:
Describe your dream house. Contemporary and classic on the outside and a little bit of American craftsman style on the inside. We want at least four bedrooms, my very own walk-in closet and a workshop/office for Tom. Hopefully, we can start building in 2020 or 2021.
Have you and Tom discussed wedding plans already? Yes, we often talk about getting married. He even has an idea which suppliers I want to get (laughs). But no definite plans yet because of course he has to propose first. Only he knows when that’s going to happen.
Article continues after this advertisementWhat are your thoughts on marriage? I have my own fears, especially because I come from a broken family. But ultimately it’s always about working things out no matter how bad the relationship gets and putting God at the center at all times. A marriage should never be broken.
Article continues after this advertisementWhat are your thoughts on jealousy? Jealousy is natural, but it should have no place in a relationship, especially if there is no reason to be jealous.
What’s your dream marriage proposal and honeymoon place? No dream marriage proposal, but I’d prefer if it were an intimate, private proposal, not too many people around. Dream honeymoon would be in Maldives.
How many kids do you and Tom plan to have, and what are your thoughts on motherhood? I’m fine with two. I would actually love to have more children, but it’s neither practical nor safe anymore for my age. I look forward to getting married so I can already have children. I’m sure motherhood is going to be an exciting journey.
What makes Tom husband material? He’s my soulmate. Let’s leave it at that.
Rita Avila’s new book
There’s more to life than show biz for Rita Avila. That’s why she keeps writing children’s books. Her latest work, “Invisible Wings Part 4,” is out already. It’s about being heroes for your neighbors. Catch Rita at her book signing event on Sept. 13, 5 p.m. at St. Paul’s booth in SMX Convention Center. Maybe Rita’s next book should be about her colorful show biz life.

PERSONAL: Thanks from the bottom of my heart to dear Tita Kitchie Benedicto for the prebirthday treat at my new fave oasis in the metro, Hotel Jen. Its club lounge has the best view of Manila Bay.
Thanks to Frencie Duadua for making me feel so welcome.
