“I’m just literally sooooo tired of being ashamed of my body, editing it (yes the other bikini pics were edited – and I hate that I did that but it’s the truth) so that others think I’m THEIR idea of what beautiful is, but it’s just not me,” she confessed.
The pictures she was referring to were posted in May while she was on vacation in Bora Bora.

She also mentioned that she was happy to return to work on TV and movie projects without a “strenuous workout schedule before 14 hour days” and eating watermelon for her birthday rather than a cake.
She admitted too her sentiments on her body: “Just so everyone’s clear.. I’m not stoked on my appearance BUT I am appreciative of it and sometimes that’s the best I can do.”
After the Instagram post, which now has nearly 6 million likes as of this writing, she shared on her Instagram Stories, “Literally shaking still… that was so hard for me to post.”
“But wow… so blown away by the love and support… let’s be the change we want to see!!!”
Her message received support from models such as Hailey Bieber and Ashley Graham, actresses Sarah Hyland and Megan Mullaly, and even professional wrestler Ronda Rousey.
“You look incredible,” said Bieber, while Rousey wrote, “You look even better without the editing.”
Lovato has been open about her body image issues, including her recovery from eating disorder bulimia. /ra
