KC Concepcion to Kiko Pangilinan on his 56th birthday: ‘What’s your purpose in life, daddy?’

KC Concepcion is seeing this year’s last days of summer in New York City with family and friends, enjoying the sights in the streets and a dinner to mark her stepfather Sen. Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan’s 56th birthday yesterday, Aug. 24.

The family had their dinner at the Big Apple’s Chinatown, as per Instagram posts today, Aug. 25, by Concepcion, mother Sharon Cuneta and sister Frankie Pangilinan. Concepcion’s Instagram Stories perfectly captured the banter between them all.

Concepcion turned playful as she greeted her dad, first by singing to him the birthday song, then by asking him how old he is, which he answered instantly, “56.” To this, Concepcion reacted, “So young!”

Cuneta soon chimed in and demurely said, “I’m 23,” prompting Concepcion to turn to her sister Frankie, and joked, “That makes you unborn yet.”

Frankie retorted by asking, “I have a question: what is our purpose?” a query thrown back by Concepcion directly to Kiko, “What is your purpose in life, daddy?”

The senator, as if holding back his laughter, remained bowed to eat his meal amid the teasing.

The Megastar also posted a photo of the celebrations with son Miguel, and her three daughters all together, including Miel.

As for Concepcion, before the family celebration, she has been strutting New York’s streets in style. Earlier this week, she went to the Meatpacking District and a famous French restaurant there, Pastis.

She also went to Union Square, where she enjoyed a cortado. It is made up of “[two] espresso shots with the steam and taste of toasted almond milk,” the actress described.

Prior to her trip to New York with family, Concepcion has also shared with fans about her activities as a United Nations World Food Programme Ambassador Against Hunger.

The task saw her visiting Uganda and Nepal for outreach work, to feed and educate impoverished children. It sure does make her qualified to ask her dad existential questions. NVG
