Rodriguez, who is currently in Texas, USA for a GMA event,  said that he woke up itching, feeling hot and could hardly breathe with hives and inflammation all over his body.

He, however, could not determine what triggered the allergies, although he remembered having a pineapple bought at a local supermarket.

“Good thing I had some prednisone for some allergies and took that right away with antihistamine and was able to call for help,” the actor said.

“The hospital staff were all amazing and had me back in tip-top shape right away,” he added, although he did not say how long he stayed in hospital

Upon his hospital discharge, Tom visited the Philippine Consulate and  “met the amazing people who hold that fort down as well as our fellow Kapusos and kababayans who were there getting their passports.”

Tom said that he is bound for Phoenix, Arizona next to visit his family and spend some quality time with them.

“Woot!!! What an adventure of a day :) nakatour pa ako ng ospital….no need to worry, I have meds and I am A-OK!!,” he said. /gsg
