KZ Tandingan could not hide her excitement after meeting American producer Randy Jackson in Los Angeles.
Jackson was a longtime judge on singing competition “American Idol” and has recorded and previously managed Mariah Carey.
Tandingan gushed in an Instagram post on Saturday, Aug. 10, “Man. I still can’t believe this happened. I got to talk to you about my dream and my passion. [And] I learned a lot and heard amazing stories from you… I’m excited for the future!”
In the pictures she shared, one showed her appearing overwhelmed as she cupped her face. Another revealed her and Jackson in a board room meeting.
Tandingan met him with a warm embrace and was shaking as she spoke to Jackson face to face at a conference table, as seen in Instagram videos from ABS-CBN Global Head of Events Ricky Resurreccion.
According to Resurreccion, Jackson already knew of Tandingan months before their meeting and was all praises for her talent.
When they sat down to talk, Jackson told her of his experience watching her perform. “I was watching and I was like ‘what the hell was going on?’ You’ve got that gift.”
Despite all the compliments and Jackson’s warmth toward her, Tandingan was still starstruck. “I still can’t believe I’m talking to you,” she said.
Others who were present in the meeting with Jackson included Tarsier Records producer and musician Moophs, who is known for his electro-pop sound. According to Moophs (real name: Chris Lopez), Jackson said his song with Iñigo Pascual “Catching Feelings” was “a hit.”
It seems something is brewing for Tandingan overseas. Erickson Raymundo, president of Cornerstone Entertainment, which manages Tandingan, was also at the meeting.
Tandingan’s powerhouse vocals earned international recognition when she joined Chinese singing competition “Singer 2018.” /ra
