As “Kadenang Ginto” gains widespread attention among viewers, memes of the series’ characters and episodes continue to circulate online. One of these well-known memes include the line, “You do note, Cassie.”
The meme refers to a scene where Daniela (Dimples Romana) stopped Cassie (Francine Diaz) from going to school, to fulfill her daughter Marga’s (Andrea Brillantes) request. It became even more popular when one 9-year-old kid, Marjorry Lingat, re-enacted the scene on Facebook last April.
On Sunday, July 28, Lingat was invited as a special guest in an episode of the talk show “Gandang Gabi Vice” (GGV) to meet the cast of the TV drama series. In the GGV episode, Lingat was requested to re-enact famous scenes with Diaz and Brillantes.
Lingat, when asked by Vice Ganda what her favorite scenes are, replied that her favorites usually involve Diaz.
“Si Cassie, paano ‘pag inaaway s’ya ni Marga,” Vice Ganda asked. (How is it when Marga fights with Cassie?)
“Hindi po siya lumalaban,” Lingat replied. (Cassie does not fight back.)
“Kaya mo bang gayahin ‘yon, kunyari ikaw muna si Cassie,” Vice Ganda said, as she asked Lingat to re-enact a scene where Marga accuses Cassie of taking everything from her. “Ka-eksena mo si Marga, tapos aapihin ka ni Marga.”
(Can you re-enact that scene? Let us pretend you are Cassie. You are with Marga, then Marga will treat you badly.)
Brillantes asked Lingat why she was in the GGV studio. Lingat responded with the words, “You do note that da liar is my peyk,” which had Brillantes struggling not to laugh to remain in character. Next, Brillantes referenced lines from the 9-year-old’s viral video, and the exchanges went on, sending Lingat to cap it all of with a sharp “edi wow.”
Vice Ganda next asked Lingat to act out the “Cassie, hindi ka muna papasok sa school” scene with Diaz. This time, Lingat pretended to be Daniela, prohibiting Diaz from going to school. Diaz questioned Lingat on why she cannot go to school, but the 9-year-old would not yield. Diaz and Lingat then strayed from the original scene, with Lingat threatening to put Cassie inside a can of sardines. As Diaz argued that she cannot fit inside, Lingat this time ended the exchange with “edi meow,” which sent the audience laughing again.
Vice Ganda then asked Lingat to re-enact scenes with Negi and Brenda Mage as Romina and Daniela, respectively.
As of this writing, Lingat’s video has gained over 800,000 views and more than 17,000 reactions on Facebook. The popularity of the video caused netizens to create their own versions.
