Derek’s No.1 rule when doing sexy scenes
Throughout his career, Derek Ramsay has “done so many projects with so many beautiful women.” And his No. 1 rule when he’s required to get intimate with them in front of the cameras, he said, is to respect the actress he’s doing a scene with.
“You don’t get turned on—you have to shut yourself off. You need to be respectful, so that she trusts you, so that the scene turns out well,” he told reporters at a press conference. “You ask what she’s comfortable and uncomfortable [doing].”
“You’re acting; you’re supposed to appear convincing to the viewers. But if my leading lady feels like I’m thinking of dirty things or that I’m taking advantage of her, I don’t think she would be able to give what’s needed,” the GMA 7 actor added.
The 42-year-old actor likewise stressed that it’s better to give it your all during the initial take. “Kapag action, itodo mo na. Like I always say, just go for it on the very first take, so you don’t have to shoot another one,” Derek explained. “It’s when you have to do a second, third take that things start to get uncomfortable.” —ALLAN POLICARPIO
