Anne Curtis stood up for members of the LGBTQ+ community, after portraying a transgender man on the drama anthology, “Maalala Mo Kaya”.
“Love should always come first,” the “It’s Showtime” host said in her Instagram post last Saturday, July 13.
“No matter the gender or how people identify themselves as,” the actress stated. “At the end of the day, we are all humans who deserve to live in a world of LOVE and RESPECT.”
She also expressed her gratitude to Marzz Balaoro, the transgender man whose life she portrayed on the show.
“Maraming Salamat Marrz Balaoro sa pagpayag [niyo] po na gampanan ko ang kwento ng buhay [niyo],” Curtis added. “At sa @mmkofficial sa tiwala na binigay [niyo] po sa akin sa special episode na [ito].”

Balaoro is a transgender man who started the FilGuys Association in Hong Kong. He is also an advocate for the rights of the LGBT community, as per a video posted on the Instagram page of “Maalala Mo Kaya” last Friday, July 12.
Filmmaker Barry Gonzalez directed the episode starring Curtis alongside actress Bianca King. The episode entitled “Embracing Me” aired last Saturday, July 13. JB
