As Kris Aquino spoke about her “unreal” struggle with migraines, stating that she was bedridden last Monday, July 8, she was given a load of surprising tips for cures.
This was after she asked her fans and followers on Instagram yesterday, July 9, for such tips on how to prevent migraines, while stressing that she is allergic to pain relievers. Her post was accompanied by a selfie, showing her appearing to have lost a lot of weight.
“[A]fter midnight Sunday, madaling araw onwards UNREAL how bad my migraine was, buong Monday bedridden. Nag improve today, nakatayo na ko pero grabe naman my hives,” Aquino said.
(After midnight, Sunday, dawn onwards, [it is] unreal how bad my migraine was. I was bedridden the whole Monday. [My condition] improved today, I am able to stand but my hives was terrible.)
Aside from being allergic to pain relievers, Aquino said that essential oils did not improve her condition. She further stated that she cannot undergo acupuncture.
“Ang hirap diba (It is hard, right)? your suggestions will be much appreciated. Help please,” she requested.
Singer Jed Madela advised Aquino to keep herself hydrated, but she replied that doctors scolded her for having low sodium due to drinking too much.
One commenter, @sally6681, advised Aquino to limit her weight loss, and instead relax and enjoy her children.
Some advised that she try placing an ice pack next to her temple, or have botox treatment.
Others told her to avoid food with MSG, or apply topical pain relievers. One commenter, @anibasdipper, told Aquino to listen to instrumental music, bathe in cold water, or even burp as much as she can.
Aquino explained that she could not regain her appetite because of the effects of her maintenance medication: “[I] wish [I] could regain my appetite [S]ally, but part of my autoimmune conditions & all my maintenance medication yung (is) weight loss.”
While Aquino has gained both support and criticism for her candidness about her health problems, she stated last month that she is still open to running for the presidency in 2022, in case her condition improves. Hannah Mallorca/JB
