The late “Crocodile Hunter” Steve Irwin’s son Robert paid homage to his father by re-creating a photo of him feeding a crocodile from 15 years ago.
The 15-year-old Robert shared the heartwarming photo on Instagram last July 2, saying it was taken in the same place and with the same crocodile.
“Dad and me feeding Murray…,” Robert said. “Same place, same croc — two photos 15 years apart.”
Robert often honors his dad on social media, sharing throwback photos and videos for all his 1.3 million fans to see. Last June, a day after Father’s Day, Robert shared a childhood photo of him and his sister Bindi with their dad.
“You’ll always be the best dad in the world,” he said.
He also shared a tender video of their family last May, which featured their mom, Terri.
“This makes me smile so much,” he said.
The Australian wildlife conservationist passed away in September 2006 after being stabbed in the chest by a stingray’s barbed tail while filming an underwater documentary entitled “Ocean’s Deadliest”.
Today, Irwin’s family is ensuring his legacy lives on as they continue his mission of “conservation through exciting education” at Australia Zoo, the home of the Crocodile Hunter. /ra
