WATCH: Ed Sheeran recruits Khalid in new single ‘Beautiful People’
“Beautiful People” will appear on Ed Sheeran’s upcoming new album “No. 6 Collaborations Project”, out on July 12.
The song was co-produced by the British singer-songwriter in collaboration with Max Martin, Shellback and Fred Gibson. It also features soulful guest vocals by Khalid.
The tune urges someone to remain true to themselves and not to succumb to the temptation of becoming one of the so-called “beautiful people” who live an exuberant lifestyle.
“Drop top, designer clothes/Front row at fashion shows/’What d’you do?’ and ‘Who d’you know?’/Inside the world of beautiful people,” Sheeran sings in the chorus over a handclap-enhanced rhythm.
Ed Sheeran also unveiled the song’s accompanying music video. The clip opens on a couple waiting in line at passport control in an airport. They are then directed outside, where a white limousine waits for them.
