MANILA, Philippines — Global Korean boy group sensation BTS has smashed another Guinness World Record, this time for the best-selling album in South Korea.

The seven-member group’s latest release “Map of the Soul: Personal” claimed the record by selling 3,399,302 copies in their home country as of May 2019, Guinness World Records announced Wednesday in its website.
BTS toppled a 24-year-old sales record held by Korean singer-songwriter Kim Gun-mo’s 1995 album “Mis-Encounter” which sold over 3 million copies in South Korea.
“Map of the Soul: Persona,” released on April 12, 2019, features the single “Boy With Luv” featuring American singer-songwriter Halsey that holds three Guinness World Records on its own.

“Boy With Luv” music video achieved the titles “Most viewed YouTube video in 24 hours,” “Most viewed YouTube music video in 24 hours,” and “Most viewed YouTube video in 24 hours by a K-pop group.”
Youtube recorded 74.6 million views in the first 24 hours since the “Boy With Luv” music video was released.
The Guinness World Records said BTS also holds social media records like “most Twitter engagements (average retweets) for a music group and most Twitter engagements (average retweets)” thanks to their fans collectively called “ARMY.” (Editor: Mike U. Frialde)
