Although Heart Evangelista has always been praised for her slim figure, her weight loss management has recently earned mixed reactions.
Criticisms on Evangelista’s diet strategy stemmed from a comment thread of one of her social media posts. The actress was shown getting an injection of what she referred to as “#H2DietShots” as seen in her Instagram post last Saturday, June 22.
The actress does the weight loss procedure known as human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) diet.
According to the healthcare platform WebMD, such a diet sets a limit of 500 calories per day and entails the taking of hCG through shots or a homeopathic product.
While Evangelista’s followers praised her commitment to losing weight, one netizen going by the handle @glai_09 called her out with a question: “Weight loss? You are skinny already darling.”

The actress explained her decision in going through with her diet program, saying, “I gained 20 pounds since my wedding… need to bring back my old body for my movie.”

But Evangelista’s diet drew more attention when she shared a photo of her meal to her fans and followers, via Instagram on Tuesday, June 25. The post showed a plate containing four slices of cucumber, four slices of tomatoes and a few pieces of what appears to be meat.
Some questioned the actress’ motives for undergoing a strict diet. One commenter, @denlasoul, criticized Evangelista’s diet as a negative influence on people who want to lose weight.
“THIS IS SO UNHEALTHY … this is not an okay type of diet to advertise to impressionable young girls and boys who aspire to look and be like you… If this diet was maintained for [about] a month or so you would end up in [the] hospital. I’m so concerned. This is not ‘discipline’ this is irresponsible!”

A netizen going by the handle @manila70411 said Evangelista’s diet is fine since she still eats breakfast before starting her day. “Please guys, don’t impose your beliefs [on] other people. The only person who knows what our body needs and not is ourselves.”

Although taking hCG shots is legal when treating fertility issues, as stated by WebMD, the United States Food and Drug Administration does not specify hCG treatment for weight loss. JB
