Jon Lucas revealed that he is leaving ABS-CBN’s Star Magic after starting his career and working as part of the TV network’s pool of young talents for six years.
Lucas expressed his gratitude to his Kapamilya family and fans for all the opportunities and support they gave him, as per his Instagram post yesterday, June 19.
“Hello Kapamilyas all around the world! Just wanna say thank you for everything! Thank you for the love that you gave me and my family. Thank you for the wonderful [six] years you’ve given me! I will forever be grateful and blessed to be part of your wonderful family!” the 23-year-old actor said.
He expressed his thanks for the opportunities given to him. “Oportunidad na totoong nagpabago sa aking buhay bilang isang tao. Mga oportunidad din na sinayang ko ng maraming pagkakataon,” the actor added.
(Opportunities that truly changed my life as a person. Also the opportunities that I wasted a lot of times.)
Aside from speaking about opportunities that he wasted, the actor said he had shortcomings with the people around him, especially those close to him, who helped him reach his dreams. He thanked them for their sacrifices and understanding.
He also thanked his bosses, his Star Magic family and his fellow “It’s Showtime” members who were truly like his family.
“Salamat sa malupit kong handler na si Ate Gidget Dela Cuesta. Sa loob ng anim na taon na katigasan ng ulo ko eh tinuring niya ako bilang anak (na pasaway) [laughs]. Gayunpaman maraming salamat sa mga payo at saway mo!” Lucas said in expression of his special thanks to his handler, who took care of him during his time with the network.
(Thank you to my handler Gidet Dela Cuesta. In the span of six years of my hard-headedness, she treated me like her son (a trouble-making one) [laughs]. Nevertheless, many thanks for your pieces of advice and reminders!)
He went on to thank the crew members of ABS-CBN, from the marshals to the security guards. He wrapped up his message by thanking his fans for their support and effort.
Prior to his message on leaving his network of six years, Becky Aguila Artist Management revealed that Lucas had signed on with their team, via an Instagram post last Sunday, June 16.
Lucas first appeared on TV starring in the 2013 show “Kahit Konting Pagtingin.” In the same year, he became a part of the Star Magic Circle alongside big names in the industry such as Liza Soberano and Julia Barretto.
His recent acting projects were starring in various episodes of “Ipaglaban Mo” and “Maalaala Mo Kaya.” /ra
