PBB housemate kicked out of show after making rape jokes

MANILA, Philippines — A “Pinoy Big Brother” (PBB) housemate was force-evicted from the show after he made a series of rape jokes.
Housemate Banjo Dangalan was told to leave the “PBB” house on the episode aired Tuesday night after making an inappropriate joke toward a fellow housemate.

“Siguro masarap itong katabi pagtulog,” Dangalan said during their breakfast, pertaining to fellow housemate Gino Roque IV.
Dangalan suggested switching places with another housemate and said “Pagsasamantalahan ko lang ito,” still referring to Roque.
“Paggising nito, wala na ‘tong saplot,” he added.
Some of the female housemates confessed to Kuya or Big Brother that they felt uncomfortable upon hearing Dangalan’s jokes.
“Medyo uncomfortable din po kami lalo na nung nagbreakfast po kami. Palagi po siyang nagjojoke ng mga ganun, mga dirty jokes po,” housemate Diana Mackey told Kuya inside the confession room.
Housemate Jamie Salenga told Kuya how Dangalan’s jokes were alarming.
“Yung mga ganung biro, alarming yun e. Sa lalaki mo binibiro pero may mga babae,” Salenga said. “Kunwari tumatawa ako pero tinitignan ko rin kung sino yung mga nagrereact sa amin.”
Dangalan was eventually called by Kuya to the confession room and said he would never tolerate such jokes inside his house.
“Ang pananamantala sa kapwa, sa kahit anong konteksto ay hindi dapat ginagawang biro. At kailanman ay hindi ko maaring palagpasin ang mga ganitong klaseng biro sa loob ng aking bahay,” Kuya said.
Kuya also reminded Dangalan of the rules inside his house given to all contestants.
“Malinaw din na nakasaad sa aking rule book na hindi kayo maaaring gumamit ng mga salitang nakakabastos sa inyong kapwa housemates,” Kuya said.
“Banjo, dahil sa sunod sunod mong paglabag sa patakaran kong ito, humantong ako sa isang desisyon. Ikaw ay pinapatawan ko ng forced eviction,” he added.
