As a nod to BTS and ARMY, Empire State Building glows in purple

New York City’s Empire State Building lit up in purple in honor of BTS and their fans (collectively known as ARMY) on Tuesday, May 21.

The top of the famous building illuminated in purple for five minutes every hour from sunset, in line with the boy band’s appearance on iHeartRadio Live.

The boy band also visited the building to see it light up, before they headed to the iHeartRadio Theater for their performance.

BTS took to Twitter to share the good news with their fans saying, “We loved turning the @empirestatebldg purple tonight for our fans #BTSARMY. We love you! #BTSxNYC #EmpireStateBuilding.”

At the event, they reunited with Halsey, who they worked with on their song “Boy With Luv”.

“fam with luv take NYC” said Halsey in her Instagram post with the boys.

After the United States leg of their “LOVE YOURSELF: SPEAK YOURSELF” world tour, as per Variety, the boys will be heading to São Paulo, Brazil and London, United Kingdom for their next performances. JB
