MANILA, Philippines – Persons who sell their vote for in exchange for rice or groceries do not have the right to demand or expect good governance, comedienne Pokwang pointed out ahead of the midterm elections on Monday, May 13.

You have no right to demand for good government if you sell your vote for rice and groceries),’ Pokwang’s Instagram post on Friday read.

The comedienne added that the future of children is in the hands of their mothers’ votes.

In the comment section, a netizen asked Pokwang about those who sell their vote for personal reasons.

The netizen’s comment read: “Never ako nagresort sa vote buying. Ano ba gagawin mo?”

In response, Pokwang pointed out that people should instead persevere to make ends meet.

“Pano kayo nakasurvive kapag walang eleksyon? Pokwang pointed out.

“Pagsisikap at wag maging pala – asa, yun ang solusyon sa kahirapan, wag maging tamad,” she added.  (Editor: Gilbert S. Gaviola)
