Reunion concert revisits the ’80s

/ 12:25 AM May 10, 2019

Gino Padilla

Gino Padilla, Jett Pangan, Raymond Lauchengco, Lou Bonnevie and Jam Morales—five of the 1980s most popular artists—will gather onstage for an upcoming concert that will celebrate the music of that flashy decade, defined by big hair, bold fashion, drum machines and synths.

Titled “Into the ’80s” and directed by Toto Gentica, the one-night shindig will be held on May 18 at The Theatre at Solaire, and deliver a repertoire full of nostalgia-inducing hits from such acts as Prince, Whitney Houston, The Police, Spandau Ballet, Billy Joel, Irene Cara, Rick Astley and The Bangles (call 891-9999).

Of course, boogie moments will be imperative. That’s why they will be joined by the Session Band, The Filipinas Band and various dance groups, with choreography from Butch Esperanza. —ALLAN POLICARPIO
