Ruffa Gutierrez’s daughters open up on relationship with dad
Lorin and Venice Gutierrez discussed their long-distance relationship with their dad, Yilmaz Bektas.
Ruffa Gutierrez’s daughters said on talk show “Magandang Buhay” Wednesday, May 1, that contrary to some assumptions, they are not estranged from their dad.
Lorin said that she and her younger sister talk to their dad via FaceTime. “We do talk to our dad, like not very often but enough.”
They are also able to speak to their half-sister through the phone. “We call her like once a month and she always checks on us.”
“There’s a misconception po na we don’t talk to him at all and have no contact. But we are super-friendly naman with our Turkish side po,” she said, noting that they have online connections to their dad’s side, thanks to Instagram.
As for fatherly advice, it is not their dad that they turn to. Venice said they talk to their mom’s brother Richard Gutierrez or their grandfather Eddie Gutierrez.

Ruffa Gutierrez married Bektas, a Turkish businessman, in 2003. They separated in 2007, with the former beauty queen claiming that she had been physically abused by him. Niña V. Guno /ra
