Sunshine Cruz’s daughters see Macky Mathay as ‘father figure’
MANILA, Philippines — For actress Sunshine Cruz’s daughters Angelina, Sam, and Chesca, their mom’s boyfriend Macky Mathay is a “father figure” in their lives.

“Tito Macky, ‘yung boyfriend ni mommy, parang father figure po,” Cruz’s eldest daughter Angelina shared on Thursday’s episode of “Magandang Buhay.”

Apart from being close to Mathay, Angelina said that she and her sisters are also close to his children.

“She’s happy naman na we’re close,” Angelina said of her mom’s reaction to their relationship with Mathay. “And we’re also close with his kids din po.”

In fact, they are so close that Cruz sometimes sees the resemblance of Mathay with her second daughter Sam.
“Sometimes nga nagsasabi po si mommy na magkamukha na po tayo, kami ni tito Macky,” Sam said.
Meanwhile, Chesca shared how Mathay even gave her nicknames, proving their close relationship with each other.
“He always teases me and he calls me Cheskie; he has nicknames for me,” Chesca said.
Cruz’s tres marias also expressed joy to see how happy their mom is whenever Mathay is around.
“We’re so happy for her na she finally found someone that loves her,” Angelina said.
“I’m super glad for my mom. Just as long as she’s happy, then we’re happy na kaagad. Whenever Tito Macky’s around, she’s always put in to a good mood. It also sets us in a good mood if she’s in a good mood so it’s great,” Sam said.
Angelina, Sam and Chesca are the daughters of Cruz with Cesar Montano. Cruz filed an annulment petition for her marriage with Montano in 2014 and it was granted in September 2018. /je
