Avengers Endgame

MANILA, Philippines — A week before the premiere of “Avengers: Endgame,” Marvel unveiled a new video bringing fans down memory lane with footage from as far back as a decade ago.

“Heroes, it’s an old-fashioned notion — a visionary, a genius, ensuring freedom around the globe,” S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Nick Fury, played by Samuel L. Jackson, says as the video begins.

“To The End” plays through the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s (MCU) history, showcasing 10 years’ worth of Marvel movies.

It connects the 22-film arc of MCU, starting with the first Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) movie in 2008.

Since then, MCU has grown to include Captain America (Chris Evans), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), Ant-Man (Paul Rudd), Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman), Captain Marvel (Brie Larson), the Guardians of the Galaxy, among others.

“Before we’re done, we still have one promise to keep. If we can’t protect the Earth, you can be damn sure we’ll avenge it,” says Tony Stark as the clip shifts from old footage to new.

“Avengers: Endgame” will premiere in Philippine cinemas on April 24. /cbb
