Two different worlds unite in Saga, Japan.
Julia Barretto and Gerald Anderson star in their first movie together, “Between Maybes,” as seen in the film’s official trailer released on Sunday, April 14.
Barretto plays Hazel, an actress experiencing troubles in her career. She then crosses paths with Louie (Anderson), who is the son of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) that got deported from Japan.
As the two form a bond while in isolation, will these lost souls regain control of their lives?
At one point in the trailer, Hazel admits to Louie that she has never had a boyfriend before, and even asked him: “Pwede bang ikaw na lang maging first boyfriend ko (Will you be my first boyfriend)?”
However, the trailer also teased that their relationship will not last, as Hazel is set to go home to the Philippines. Hazel, unbothered by the thought, simply tells Louie to enjoy their bond while they are still together.
“Between Maybes” is directed by Jason Paul Laxamana, and will be released under Black Sheep. The movie is slated to be shown in theaters on May 15. /ra
