Actress Glaiza de Castro issued a warning about her verified Facebook page, which has been hacked. She made the announcement via Instagram yesterday, April 11, calling on her fans not to entertain any messages from the said page.

“This is to inform you that my VERIFIED Facebook page has been HACKED,” she said. “Please DO NOT entertain messages, or any kind of contact from this account.”

She also listed the unauthorized contact details listed on the hacked page and asked her fans to be wary.

“I am trying my best to retrieve my account and use it again for real updates from me, and no other people,” she said.

She has since asked for assistance in reaching out to Facebook Philippines in getting her page back.

“If there is any help that you can extend, or any person who can help me reach Facebook PH to take my page back, it will be very much appreciated,” said De Castro. “Thank you very much, and let’s all keep safe!”

Many celebrities share the same experience and had their own social media accounts compromised by hackers in the past. Actress Angelica Panganiban’s Twitter account and Daniel Padilla’s Instagram account were hacked on the same day back in April 2015. The hacker allegedly posted a malicious tweet on Panganiban’s account.

Maine Mendoza’s Twitter account was also hacked by a group claiming to be Anonymous Philippines in November 2015. Meanwhile, Miss Universe Philippines 2016 Maxine Medina’s Instagram account got hacked in April 2017, though she was able to revive it after she reported the account.

Actress and comedian Rufa Mae Quinto warned her fans on Twitter that her Instagram account and e-mail account were hacked last January. The hacker apparently changed Quinto’s profile name and profile picture, prompting her to ask her fans to block and report the account.  /ra
