YG Entertainment terminates contract of Big Bang’s Seungri

 

MANILA, Philippines  – YG Entertainment has officially terminated  the contract of Big Bang’s Seungri two days after he announced his retirement from the entertainment industry.

Seungri’s agency YG Entertainment announced the news on Wednesday in a statement,  Soompi , an English-language news website on Korean pop culture. reported.

“On March 12, following the announcement of Seungri’s retirement, YG agreed to Seungri’s request and decided to terminate his exclusive contract,” YG Entertainment’s statement read.

YG Entertainment also apologized to fans for “causing trouble” following the series of allegations surrounding Seungri.

“Starting with the assault case at the club that Seungri participated in, various suspicions and controversies have continuously arisen. We bow our heads and express deep apologies for causing trouble to many people including fans,” YG Entertainment said.

“YG acknowledges that as a management company, we were not able to manage thoroughly, and we are deeply reflecting,” it added.

The 29-year-old singer is under investigation after reportedly linking up prostitutes with potential business partners through a group chat back in 2015. /gsg
