Sabrina Carpenter

She started posting song covers on YouTube at age 9, got signed by a label at 12, and released her first record at 16.

Now, at 19, Sabrina Carpenter already has three studio albums under her belt and has been doing shows all over the world.

As part of her upcoming tour, “Singular,” the American singer-songwriter is set to return to the Philippines for a concert at the New Frontier Theater on April 9, according to local promoter MMI Live (call 9115555).

In her visit to the country last year, Sabrina did a series of media appearances and mall shows to promote her latest album “Singular: Act 1,” which features her pop-dance bop “Almost Love,” which reached the No. 1 spot of Billboard’s Dance Club Songs chart.

She also released a version with rap verses from Filipino hip-hop artist Shanti Dope.

“Touring is one of my favorite things in the world, because when I’m consistently doing shows every night, it feels like the stage isn’t even there. You get so comfortable that you forget you’re on it,” she said in an interview with a local radio station last year. “I just enjoy it.”

Outside music, Sabrina dabbles in acting and has appeared in numerous television shows, including “Law and Order” and “Orange Is the New Black.” She’s also part of the upcoming Netflix movie, “Tall Girl.”—ALLAN POLICARPIO
