Jodi Sta. Maria is on a roll when it comes to exploring, this time setting foot in Benguerra Island, Mozambique.
But even before landing, the Kapamilya actress already appreciated the beauty she saw from her airplane window, as seen in her Instagram post on Feb. 11.
Sta. Maria, who looked like an island girl in her floral dress, fit perfectly in the landscape of the tropical paradise.
She also had some fresh catch during Valentine’s, at one point showing off a gigantic barracuda. Sta. Maria said she spent that day at sea, where the waves were big, amid rain and gusty winds.
But her escapade was not all solely for vacation; she set out mingling with the locals as well. Sta. Maria visited the only school on the island, having 378 students and only eight teachers.
“Students are taught 10 subjects including English, and for them, education is the most important weapon to battle poverty,” Sta. Maria said about what she learned from the visit. JB
