Pink ‘embarrassed’ about receiving H’wood Walk of Fame star

Having been in the public eye for 25 years, you’d think that Pink must be used to all the attention and praise by now.

That’s not the case, she said, when she recently received a star at the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

“I was embarrassed. It was so much attention,” she said of the experience in an interview with Ellen DeGeneres, who was one of the people who paid tribute to the singer. “But I hate compliments—and that’s a huge compliment—so I was crawling out of my skin,” she explained.

In her speech, Ellen, who’s a friend of Pink, described the artist thus: “If you have ever seen her in concert, she’s the most amazing performer. But, at the same time, she’s the most grounded person. She can turn it on and be amazing, and then just be a regular person.”—ALLAN  POLICARPIO
